Everyone keeps harping on and on about this bug, but the fact is, the current composer can not even handle HTML properly enough to re-create the stuff attempting to be preserved anyway! IE, 25% of the emails I receive have HTML tables in them. The current composer can not create tables. 75% of the emails I receive have images in the signature. The current composer can not insert inline images. I know that the QTextEdit control *supports* tables and images, but the composer, does not. So, maybe a hack can be found that would preserve the formatting, but you would not be able to edit it to, for example, add your own image. Without editing capacity, preserving the reply in a half-OK state is not useful. As such - this bug *depends* on getting a new composer in KMail.
