Also have this bug in Kmail 5.7.3 on Fedora 28 but **only** for Gmail. OAuth is used for IMAP and it works. For SMTP have to use generated application password (see https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/185833). KMail can't send emails via Gmail account in this use case. Unfortunately can't find out how to grab SMTP session log in Akonadi. P.S.
