I just disabled "include in manual fetch" and "fetch regularly" in the account
options of several of my DIMAP and POP3 accounts, and since then KMail runs
havoc.
It fetches emails from all those accounts in an infinite loop, without any
pause in between. (Probably checking each account at least once per second for
new mail.)
