Well, I learned a lesson: don't test certain applications from a terminal window UNLESS you are actually logged in as that user. When I tried to run KMail, I did it something like this: 1. Logged in as "steve" KDEDIR=/usr 2. Opened terminal and ran "su - kde-trunk" 3. That is when the failed attempts at running KMail occured... In closing: 1. KMail from SVN TRUNK runs perfectly if I log into a full KDE SVN TRUNK session. 2.
