When I exit kontact I get the error popup:
Unable to get access for saving the address book <my read-only LDAP resource>
When I exit kaddressbook, I do not get that error popup.
The resource has the read-only flag set in systemsettings -> Advanced User
Settings -> KDE Resources -> <resource name> -> Edit -> Read-only checkbox.
