The 'vCard file' or 'vCard Directory' resource do not support to store contact groups. So remove the vCard file/directory resource from kaddressbook, shutdown kaddressbook/kontact, run the application 'kaddressbookmigrator', start kaddressbook again, add the 'Personal Contact' resource with the default path that it suggests.
