Summary: counter productive consistency check in kaddressbook
                    mail address text field
           Product: kaddressbook
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: openSUSE RPMs
        OS/Version: unspecified
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: [email protected]
        ReportedBy: [email protected]
                CC: [email protected]

Version: (using KDE 4.4.1)
Installed from: openSUSE RPMs

When adding a new contact using the kaddressbook dialog, or just when adding a
mail address to an existing contact, the early consistency check inside the
EMail text field is counter productive.

Very many people's mail addresses are [email protected], so almost
every lazy, but smart user will do this: copy & paste the person's full name to
the EMail text field, at least she/he will try to do that, then replace the
space by a dot and append the domain.

This worked fine for years, but now it doesn't any more. When you try that the
first time after updating to a recent KDE version you won't be able to find out
why pasting doesn't work, and search somewhere else.
