Nepomuk has a feature to suspend Strigi indexing when the system is running on
batteries or is low on resources. This was explained because, in KDE ~4.3, the
only CPU/HDD-intensive task that Nepomuk could do was Strigi indexing. However,
in KDE 4.5, I can easily halt a system while retrieving huge mail inboxes and
processing them with akonadi_nepomuk_email_feeder. There aren't checks to
prevent that akonadi_nepomuk_email_feeder runs only when the system can handle
a heavy load. I want those checks in place.
