It is clearly doing something but it is impossible to tell what. Usually this occurs when kmail has recently started but it can occur during other times as well. I get the UI grinding to a halt, slow window updates, very slow responsiveness almost as if the process has been halted, it usually lasts for a couple of minutes and then kmail springs back into life. During this time kamil runs at 100% CPU in a single thread. The UI isn't completely dead, just extremely slow. for what it is worth I have nepomuk disbaled. Kmail 1.13.6 / kde 4.6.0 release 6 and suse 11.4.
