I was planning to start a new request under Kmail2 but I'm on vacation and would have had to wait until getting back home. Just replying here, however, I can do without being home ;-) So, yes, I'm the original poster of this request and would like to renew it as I am still using Kmail (now Kmail2) and have not noticed any change in the scrolling behavior. And I would still very much like to see this change in future releases.
