Sometimes after rebooting and logging in, Akonadi starts properly, but most often, although akonadi_control and akonadiserver are running, I see the messages in tests 10 and 11: Akonadi control process not registered at D-Bus. Akonadi server process not registered at D-Bus. (Unlike the above log, though, test 12 for me says "Nepomuk search service registered at D-Bus.")
