Also worth noting I do have a signature which starts with an HR and auto input signature/put above quote is enabled and if there is no blank line below where I'm typing (ie I'm typing and signature horizontal line is on the next line) it does not seem to experience #1 above, it would seem it only enters a line break as described above if there is an empty line below the cursor/typing position.
