I believe the difference is that I am using Kwallet to store the passwords. Maybe it is that I enable LibKGAPI2 (raw data) in kdebugdialoge. I did remove completely akonadi from .kde and .local and start again before testing, and did not enable auto refresh (for whatever reason).
