This issue happens for me with a yahoo account where i have less than 30 mails / 1 megabyte in total. It never ever happens to me with Gmail or with my own Dovecot servers, but it happens reliably over and over again with Yahoo mail. Kmail "hangs" (just the blue blank background waiting for message content) until I restart akonadi with "akonadictl restart" then everything works fine for a few hours again.
