Hi,

I’m currently using Kea as DHCP and to report into a Dynamic DNS but I’ve hit a
bit of a snag. There’s a possibility that people on different subnets may well
choose to use the same machine name, which I suspect is going to cause issues
once they go into DNS.

One solution is to use different subdomains on different subnets.

So what I was wondering is is there a way to change the “qualifying-suffix” per
subnet or have it report a different suffix depending on which subnet it’s
requesting an address for.

Eg:

Users on 192.168.1.x/24 get *.foo.domain.local by default if no fqdn is
supplied.
Users on 172.16.x.x/16 get *.bar.domain.local by default if no fqdn is supplied.

Thanks

Keith
