Okay, it appears to be going much smoother on install now. However, just
curious... is this "alright" -

autoreconf --install
libtoolize: `./ltmain.sh' is newer: use `--force' to overwrite
libtoolize: `m4macros/libtool.m4' is newer: use `--force' to overwrite
libtoolize: `m4macros/ltoptions.m4' is newer: use `--force' to overwrite
libtoolize: `m4macros/ltversion.m4' is newer: use `--force' to overwrite

Or do I need to use the --force switch on that command?

I went through the same problem,

in my case this solved:

$ sudo yum group install "Development Tools"

up
