Thanks, the reason why things didn't "just work" was because of the DHCP relay I had disabled.
Once I re-enabled that, everything started working exactly like how I expected it too. I do use the DDNS updates from Kea to populate the BIND that is running on the same Raspberry Pi, so going to pfSense wouldn't work out. I think I'm good now. I will mention that I wish there was a Arm package for Ubuntu that ISC offered. I would be on the latest version of Kea if that was the case, but since that's not the case, I had to use 2.0.2 that came with 22.04 LTS. Thankfully all of the major settings that I was testing in a 2.4.1 instance on a x86-64 system translated to 2.0.2 with minimal reconfiguration. 24.04 LTS has the 2.4.1, but I'm hesitant to update this system since I've got a few other things going on that I'm not sure an upgrade might break other things. -Ubence On Mon, May 27, 2024 at 6:32 AM Rick Frey <grib...@gmail.com> wrote: > > Ad David suggested, getting a packet capture will help you determine if > the discover packets are reaching your Kea DHCP server when not using a > DHCP relay on your pFsense firewall.
