Kea Users,

I would like to announce a new open-source tool, Endure, listed on ISC Kea & IPv6 Tools page (https://www.isc.org/kea-tools/). It is a DHCP monitoring and diagnostics utility which should run next to a DHCP server or relay. It captures the DHCP traffic between the clients and the server, and outputs the metrics useful for diagnosing issues with the server's operation. The metrics can be exported to Prometheus/Grafana. The metrics can also be accessed using REST API, SSE (server sent events), or printed into a CSV file. The tool can be used for both online (on-wire) and offline analysis (.pcap).

The code and the documentation is maintained on GitHub: https://github.com/msiodelski/endure.

It is an experimental project that I am maintaining on best-effort basis. I am interested to hear what additional metrics the DHCP administrators desire. Please submit relevant issues in GitHub if interested. In the next releases, I am planning to add DHCPv6 support to the tool, and improve packaging.

Kind Regards,

Marcin Siodelski

Sr. Software Engineer at ISC
