Inflation Update November 20, 2008
Inflation based on the wholesale price index (WPI) for
the week ended November 08, 2008 decreased to 8.90% as compared to 8.98% a week
ago.
The Index for all commodities for the week decreased to
235.0 as compared to 235.5 in the previous week. The decrease in the WPI index
is due to decrease in the prices of fuel, power, light and manufactured
products.
The wholesale price-based inflation was 3.20% during
the corresponding week last year.
