NEW DELHI: With DTH platform gaining momentum in the country, Essel group company Dish TV is planning to add another 200 channels by next year to its bouquet to maintain its lead in the space.
"We have the largest content pipe. We carry about 225 plus channels (now). Going forward, within a year's time, we will increase it to 400-450,"' Dish TV's Chief Operating Officer, Mr Salil Kapoor, told PTI. The company, which has been one of the earliest players in the field, is also looking at strengthening its value-added services vertical. "We currently have services like ICICI Active where one can get all the information about ICICI's loans and offers, which are unique to us. We are working on similar lines for others, the details of which are being worked on," Mr Kapoor said. He, however, declined to divulge the names of the firms or the verticals being looked at. The company is also looking at other channels like multi-dwelling units (MDUs) and mobile MDUs. "We have a lot of high-profile clients who want to stay in touch with news on the move. For them, mobile MDUs provide access to DTH on the go," Mr Kapoor said. Despite the slump seen in other sectors, Mr Kapoor said he is upbeat about the industry and e xpects it to grow. - PTI http://www.thehindubusinessline.com/businessline/blnus/19251061.htm Life is like a piano, white keys are happy moments and black keys are sad moments.
