I*ndian Hotels Company,* part of Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces announced a steep drop in standalone net profit for the quarter ended December 2008 following slump in demand. During the quarter, the profit of the company declined 37.70% to Rs 838.50 million from Rs 1,345.80 million in the same quarter last year.
Net sales declined 12.29% to Rs 4,566 million, while total income for the quarter fell 9.20% to Rs 4,786.10 million, when compared with the prior year period.
