Siemens, engaged in the business of electrical and electronic engineering products, disclosed a phenomenal rise in standalone net profit for the quarter ended December 2008, helped by substantial growth in other income. During the quarter, the profit of the company rose 67.76% to Rs 3,305.80 million from Rs 1,970.52 million in the same quarter last year.
Net sales declined 14.34% to Rs 16,399 million, while total income for the quarter fell marginally 3.01% to Rs 18,631.51 million, when compared with the prior year period. Other income for the quarter surged to Rs 2,232.88 million from Rs 66.03 million in the prior year period.
