* ASHOK LEYLAND: Sold 10,244 vehicles in June, 28% higher than in the
previous year.

* BALLARPUR INDUSTRIES: Plans to transfer its copier paper units to arm
BILT Graphic Paper Products and transfer the arm's pulp-making unit to the
company.

* BERGER PAINTS: Looking for acquisitions in domestic as well as overseas
markets.

* CAIRN INDIA: Life Insurance Corp of India has raised its stake in the
company to 5.03% from 4.99%.

* CIPLA: Appoints Teva Pharmaceutical's former Vice President Frank Pieters
to head European respiratory drugs business.

* COAL INDIA: Production in Apr-Jun stood at 102.46 mln tn, up 6.4% from
96.31 mln tn year ago.

* EDUCOMP SOLUTIONS: 750 employees, or 5% of its workforce, put in their
papers; company says it has not sacked workers.

* GUJARAT PIPAVAV PORT: To sell shares to institutional investors to raise
around $37 mln to fund expansion plans.

* GVK POWER: Korea Electric Power Corp is in talks for acquiring stake in
the company's power generation business.

* HERO MOTOCORP: Has launched 125cc Ignitor motorcycle at a starting price
of 55,900 rupees, ex-Delhi.

* KEC INTERNATIONAL: Has started commercial production of high-tension

* ONMOBILE GLOBAL: Kotak Mahindra Prime and two related entities have sold

its power generation and transmission businesses in suburban Mumbai.

* SIRPUR PAPER MILLS: Has submitted a proposal to its lenders restructuring
its debt.

* STEEL STRIPS WHEELS: Net sales in Apr-Jun rose 12.3% on year to 2.54 bln
rupees. It sold 769,000 wheel rims in June down from 858,000 year ago.

* TECH MAHINDRA: Company and UK 's Serco eyeing the business process
outsourcing unit of Hutchison Global Services.

* VOLTAS : Beats Koran major LG with higher market share of 18.3% in May in
the air-conditioner market.
