What errors do you get when compiling?
You can use these commands to download and compile 2.4:
mkdir kepler-2.4
cd kepler-2.4
svn co
https://code.kepler-project.org/code/kepler/releases/release-branches/build-area-2.4
build-area
cd build-area
ant change-to -Dsuite=kepler-2.4
ant compile
--dan
