wsapi-install-1.2 fails under Mac OS X (10.5.8) by executing:

wsapi-install-1.2 --prefix=${PWD} --without-readline

The installer then gets as far as luasocket-2.0.2 and then bombs. I've included a snippet of the output below.

Can anyone give a hint about what I should do to correct this? I've an idea the error is in the makefile included with luasocket-2.0.2, but I can't find where on my system the installer placed these files.

-- Begin output --

cd src; make all

luasocket.h:30: error: syntax error before ‘*’ token

-- End output --

If it is relevant, I obtained the installer by following this link:

Any help is much appreciated.
