The best way to get this fixed would be to get the patch applied upstream to MIT so we could then pull it into Solaris/OpenSolaris when we next do a resync (or earlier if there is demand). From a quick glance the patch looks reasonable and if you want to work on it specifically for OpenSolaris/Solaris I'd be glad to help you.
