I believe I know exactly what you're referring to.  I read it two years ago,
long before I actually had anything to do with Kerberos or had a prayer of
being able to understand and hack on the code, and it's still one of my
favorite explanations of how any why Kerberos works (much more entertaining
than RFC 1510, too).  You can find it at:
