hi,

if you go to google groups and search in comp.os.protocols.kerberos
for irix xdm you'll get a few hits. there are various suggestions, one
is to get the XFree86 source and recompile it with kerberos support
and use its xdm. there was also a mention of a PAM like package for
IRIX called TED - but i cant find it with google. lastly, there was a
site/package collection called 'kerbnet', but again, from a cursorary
google i can not find any archives that are still valid. also, the SGI
DCE/DFS package has some kind of kerberos support - includes kinit,
klist, etc.. but i read that while Kerberos V clients can interoperate
with DCE KDC's, that DCE clients can not interoperate with krb5 KDCs.
whether this holds true for the kinit, klist, k.., etc.. packages
included with SGI DCE, i dont know.

if you find a solution i'd be interested to hear it. (as i have some
SGI machines i maintain).
