Hi,

I thought I give it a try by contacting you about a Kerberos database issue I
am having. Since I already searched the web for a solution, you are probably my
last hope of fixing it. I tried setting up a Kerberos installation for a Hadoop
distribution I am using. Sadly I mixed a few things up in my conf file. Now my
old and my new realm settings don't match (I forgot the old settings). Not a
big problem, except that I already set up a krb database for the domain. I now
what to delete the db and create a new one (with the same name). This is not
possible since the config of the kdb conf does not match.
My code:

"kdb5_util create -r MYMHP.NET -s
Loading random data
Initializing database '/var/kerberos/krb5kdc/principal' for realm 'MYMHP.NET',
master key name 'K/m...@mymhp.net<mailto:'K/m...@mymhp.net>'
You will be prompted for the database Master Password.
It is important that you NOT FORGET this password.
Enter KDC database master key:
Re-enter KDC database master key to verify:
kdb5_util: Die Datei existiert bereits while creating database
'/var/kerberos/krb5kdc/principal'

? It says that the file already exists while creating ....

Now what I tried:

"Krb5_uitl -r MYMHP.NET destroy won't work.

kdb5_util: file or directory not found while retreiving configuration
parameters"

Is there any way to fix this without having to reinstall my Hadoop distribution
(running on the same server as Kerberos)?

I am grateful for any advice you might have.

With best regards,
Lars Kinder
