Bug description:
Supposedly, this was solved in Ubuntu 23.10, but the package never made it
out of the mantic-proposed repository:

Nor was it backported to Ubuntu 22.04
As a temporary measure, I uploaded a patched version to a PPA for
Ubuntu 22.04 (and added a patch for 6.6/6.7):
