it works on the MBP 6,2 now with kernel 3.8.0.28 However I have a similar issue with a MacBook Pro with Retina display (15").
In order to get the machine to sleep, I have to open system settings / power management and just click on the button to sleep when the lid is closed. This does the trick. I don't know what is done that suspend to RAM is so error prone these days. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1072360 Title: [Macbook Pro 6,2] Suspend to RAM fails (non-free: nvidia wl) Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: After upgrading to 12.10 suspend to RAM does not work reliably any longer. Linux mbp 3.5.0-18-generic #29-Ubuntu SMP Fri Oct 19 10:26:51 UTC 2012 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux (on Macbook Pro 6,2) Symptoms: Closing the lid does not always lead to suspended state. Usually upowerd stops before this. Suspend from the menu works fine. Resume does not always bring a logon dialog either.
