Christopher, the problem resolved with one of the system updates some time after my bug report last year. I apologize for not mentioning that. Do you recommend the BIOS update anyway?

After that, I can only shutdown the system with the power button. I have a second OS to choose from in grub which is Windows Vista but booting fails as well. Please, any help is greatly appreciated.
