I have the same issue on toshiba satellite p50-b-10v. Sometimes the fan
doesn't work, but if I reboot it starts to work normally.

I haven't found a pattern yet but I think it's related with suspending
computer and alternate between power cable / battery.

Title:
  [Asus S7F] Fan not working

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  Triaged

Bug description:
I have an Asus S7F laptop and most of the times, the fan is not spinning at
all. When booting in Windows 7, the fan works.
Temperature reaches sometimes over 80 degrees, so I had to put an additional
fan next to my laptop just to keep it at 70 degrees. Any idea what could it be
the cause? Unsupported sensor maybe?
