Not sure if this is helpful bug info for you or not but right after writing my response I did have an issue. I plugged my galaxy s5 into my laptop last night to charge. For some reasons ubuntu seems to have a problem with it, it will randomly pop up messages that it can't mount it ut then pop up the Files app showing the contents, I had a dozen or so of those so I did I right click quit and at the same time my transmission dl dropped to a crawl. I did a speed test after closing transmission and my DL speed was only 5Mbps, I reset adapter ant tested again and it is back to normal 15Mbps. I never dropped completely though, so it is possible what I did was a partial fix.
