Bug is still there in 10.04. I made sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade after a reboot the system hangs on /scripts/init-bottom at [ 6.9965525] sd 10:0:0:3: [sde] Attached SCSI removable disk
the above line changes if I plug other USB devices but the error is the same If I insert a USB disk or SD card in the reader after the hangs the system shows additional lines identifying the device, so the system is not freezed but is waiting for what???? I don't know what is waiting for but suspect something stop the shell loading. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/578146 Title: Ubuntu 10.04 : System hangs after SCSI probing Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu: Invalid Status in Gentoo Linux: New Bug description: On a DELL studio XPS, with a fresh install of Ubuntu 10.04 x86 Desktop, the system hangs at boot almost every time (80% of the time).
