Title:
12.04 Kernel 3.2.0-48 breaks KMS on Intel i830M
Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
Expired
Bug description:
Ubuntu 12.04 boots to a black screen after regular package updates.
Kernel based modesetting did work before on this machine (with Intel
i830M chipset)
Unfortunately the last update I did on the machine was on Feb 19 2013.
So the package to blame could have been released between February 19th
and July 3rd 2013.
When I boot with the "nomodeset" parameter in GRUB the machine boots
into X normally, however the "VESA" driver is used instead of "i830M"
like before.
