You have all the needed info in bugzilla. The problem was the acpi
driver detecting less than 8 inputs, and the asignee made a patch (which
I pasted here) that fixed the problem. He said they needed to find a
better solution to the issue, because the patch wasn't the best
solution.  I won't give more information.

Title:
  asus x200la brightness hotkeys not working (rest of them do)

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
  If I click on brightness hotkeys nothing (apparently) happens. I
  suppose keys are missbinded or something like that. How can I fix it?
