You have been subscribed to a public bug: Whenever my laptop suspends (desirable) and then resumes, the r8169 module cannot reconnect the wired Ethernet line. This is consistent. I can see network_manager trying over and over to get a reconnection.
Functional work-around: # After resume: sudo rmmod r8169 sudo insmod /lib/modules/`uname --kernel-release`/kernel/drivers/net/ethernet/realtek/r8169.ko Xubuntu Trusty (14.04.04 up-to-date) - HP Pavilion dv3-1075us Laptop - Product page: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01632154 - CPU: AMD Turion X2 RM-72 Dual-Core Mobile Processor @ 2.10 GHz - RAM: 8GB (max: 8GB) - Video: ATI Radeon HD 3200 Graphics - Kernel: 3.13.0-79-generic (on 2016-03-13) - Wired Ethernet: RTL8111/8168/8411 PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet Controller Note that the r8169 module was chosen by Ubuntu during installation, not by me. ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Low Status: Incomplete ** Tags: r8169 realtek -- In 14.04.04, r8169.ko cannot recover wired Ethernet connection after resume from suspend https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1556676 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
