I posted the description of the problem here: http://askubuntu.com/questions/755389/changing-the-desktop-to-mate
Here is the output of dmesg | grep ath pastebin.com/yqpn0YEr pastebin.com/u1k5pu7c pastebin.com/Yk34SX67 pastebin.com/Gk6n4C14 I can run "apport-collect 1568635" on live DVD tonight (wifi doesn't work on it, so, hopefully it helps). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1568635 Title: wireless card (Killer n1525) doesn't work Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Killer 1525 wireless card doesn't work on Ubuntu Mate with stock drivers. It sometimes can detect networks, but cannot connect to WPA protected WIFI. "dmesg | grep ath" shows several thousand of lines "failed to start hw scan: -108". Problem can be fixed by following the steps outlined here: http://www.killernetworking.com/support/knowledge-base/17-linux/20-killer-wireless-ac-in-linux-ubuntu-debian Please include correct board.bin and firmware-?.bin files to Ubuntu Mate 16.04 distro. In my case wifi worked after I deleted board.bin and firmware-4.bin both /lib/firmware/ath10k/QCA6174/hw2.1/ and /lib/firmware/ath10k/QCA6174/hw3.0/ then copied firmware-5.bin_SW_RM.1.1.1-00157-QCARMSWPZ-1 as firmware-4.bin and firmware-4.bin. Finally, I saved resulting board.bin, firmware-4.bin and firmware-5.bin to both ..../2.1/ and ..../3.0/ folders To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1568635/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
