I do believe the problem is the Intel GMA4500M. I also believe is
doesn't matter who manufactered the laptop (like PB/Acer etc).

This laptop also contains a Integrated Intel GMA4500.
The black screen first appears in Ubuntu 11.04 and all verions
released since 11.04 (kernel 3.x?). There is a visual with bootoption
nomodeset.
