This is reported against an old version of Ubuntu and many things has
changed since then. Because of that we won't fix this issue however if
this behavior repeats on a modern version please fill a bug report

Title:
Bluetooth daemon crashes when using mobile phone as network device
(PAN/NAP)
Status in bluez package in Ubuntu:
Invalid
Bug description:
Bluetooth daemon crashes often when using mobile phone as network
device (PAN/NAP). In a few times it works and then I can use the phone
Internet connection in my laptop.
Steps to reproduce the bug:
1) Get a mobile phone with the tethering capability via bluetooth and a
laptop with bluetooth adapter.
2) Pair the mobile phone and the laptop using gnome-control-center ->
bluetooth module.
3) In gnome-control-center -> bluetooth module, activate the option "Use
your mobile phone as a network device".
4) Go to network-manager applet and click on the phone connection to connect,
most times it will fail.
5) Repeat the step before a few times until you see the crash or the Apport
notification.
What is happening now?
Most of the time, the connection fails and bluetooth daemon crashes after
some tries.
What is expected to happen?
The connection should be successfully established via network-manager applet
and after that, I should have the phone internet connection available for my
computer.
