** This bug has been marked a duplicate of bug 1233681 context switching on 3.11 kernel costing CPU and power -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1186004 Title: Power consumption increasing on linux 3.9 Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: See http://reports.qa.ubuntu.com/power/hardware/arch/amd64/?size=big We saw a period of time from 20130507 to 20130520 where power consumption decreased for quite a few tests. However, there were some strange things, such as on the dd_copy test, the power decreased, but the duration of the test went up. More recently, the power consumption has gone back up. Particularly on the idle test, the power never went down, but has now gone up quite a bit. The dd_copy test is back at about the level it was before in terms of power, but the duration did not drop down to the previous levels. Current kernel version is: 3.9.0-3.8 From talking to cking earlier today, it sounds like he expects some of this may clear up when 3.10 lands, but I wanted to file this here so we don't lose track of it.
