Updates Wont Update

Bug description:
Okay, it says that there are 400 updates to update. I press Install
Updates. Then it comes back almost immediately with a box saying that
it cannot download updates because there is no internet connection. I
checked my internet connection, and it is fine. But now the Update
Program wont leave me alone. It keeps on poping up to remind me to
update my pc with the same results. Also, now when it pops up it
almost freezes my pc up everytime, along with a system error message
coming up saying that there was a system error would I like to report
it. Please help. Thanks.
I am using the latest version of Ubuntu 12.04 LS
I am expecting the Update Manager to Update, and it will not.
It asks for an internet connection when there is an internet connect provided.
