Tested with 4.8.0-36-generic #38 kernel in -proposed and the tests work fine with no failure.

With the fix, it works perfectly. == Regression potential == Minimal, this is a tried and tested patch, plus it matches the fixes in the amd64 paths that were not ported over to the i386 paths which this fix now addresses.
