Title:
Can't access to network using ethernet through USB-C hub

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
Dell XPS-15, Ubuntu 16.04, Caldigit Hub.

When I plug this hub on my windows partition, the ethernet connection
is detected fine and I can use it to access my local network and
  Internet. Not under Ubuntu.

Ubuntu does detect the USB-C hub since it uses it to power my laptop
and plug 2 additional monitors. The network also works with Ubuntu if
I use the Wifi. But ethernet works only with Windows.

This seems specific to this hub as I have tried a USB-C ethernet
adapter that worked with Ubuntu in the past.

I don't have a ethernet port on the laptop to do more tests, the XPS15
  only has a usb-c port.
