I was asked to test the kernel 4.12. I did, now running:
Linux lap 4.12.0-041200-generic #201707022031 SMP Mon Jul 3 00:42:33 UTC 2017
i686 i686 i686 GNU/Linux

Title:
Java issues with LibreOffice and kernel 4.10.0-26 in Zesty 32bit

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
In Ubuntu 17.04 32bit LibreOffice does not cooperate with OpenJava or
OracleJava (any versions) on kernel 4.10.0-26. LibO simply disappears when
using BASE, which depends on Java.
It still works normally with kernel 4.10.0-22.

This only affects the 32bit-architecture, while everything works fine
  on 64bit.

The same issue exist in Ubuntu 16.04 with kernels 4.4.0-81 and
4.4.0-83, only 32bit as well. Here everything works fine up to kernel
  4.4.0-79.

Tried several versions of LibreOffice an of Java. No change. So it seems to
be the kernels to have the bug.
