Touchpad on HP Pavilion x2 12 doesn't work

Bug description:
A new installation of ubuntu zesty (beta) on a new "detachable" laptop
(ie you can pull the screen off of the keyoard and use as a tablet).
The keyboard part has a touchpad integrated. The touchpad doesn't work
though.
I found this:

and when I
- add "hid_generic" to /etc/modules
- add "blacklist hid_rmi" to /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf
- echo 3 06cb 7d29 4 | sudo tee
/sys/module/hid_generic/drivers/hid\:hid-generic/new_id
then the tablet works with single finger motion and left and right
click.
Can this be supported out of the box?
All the attachments should relate to the "out of the box" status in
which the touchpad does not work. Let me know if I should attach some
logs with hid_rmi blacklisted, or something else.
