Bug description:
  Figuring out what went wrong is hard when the only error message you get is:
  bash: echo: write error: Invalid argument
  Add code to the kernel to implement a new file 
/sys/fs/resctrl/info/last_cmd_status that provides a more helpful message when 
a command fails.
