There is a patch: https://git.launchpad.net/~ubuntu- kernel/ubuntu/+source/linux/+git/unstable/commit/?id=7c833a7bd411805861b77af148cb2fc30e429210
But it did not solve the problem for me. If I build via "make-kpkg", then the debian/rules gets overwritten which contains the patch. Building just with "make bindeb-pkg" doesn't work either, because the debian/rules is not called. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1758856 Title: retpoline hints: primary infrastructure and initial hints Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Fix Committed Status in linux source package in Trusty: New Status in linux source package in Xenial: New Status in linux source package in Artful: New Status in linux source package in Bionic: Fix Committed Bug description: Tracking bug for the application of the retpoline hint tracking support. We are having terrible trouble with hints changing on every build. Upstream is moving to hinting those indirections which have been reviewed and are good. This includes direct hinting of PVOPS and the like which are the ones which change all the time as new ones appear and dissappear. Backport the hint support and add our own bespoke checkers against this data.
