Public bug reported:
Description:
VFIO (Virtual Function I/O) is an IOMMU/device agnostic framework for
exposing direct device access to user space in a secure IOMMU protected
environment. VFIO/MDEV(mediated device) is based on VFIO to provide a
generic framework for mediated devices simulated by a real physical
device. Current vfio/mdev doesn’t implement full iommu support. With
scalable mode supported by IOMMU hardware, each mediated device could be
isolated and protected by IOMMU. Hence all IOMMU ops could be handled in
vfio/mdev (no dependency on the parent device).
